On November 15, 1993, Life Air Rescue was created by the merging of two well established programs in Shreveport, LA. Life Air One, based at Schumpert Medical Center, which was established in 1983 and Air Rescue, based at Willis-Knighton Medical Center, which was established in 1990.
In 1997 Life Air Rescue received one of the first American Eurocopter EC-135 Aircraft in the United States for Medical Transport.
In 1996 Life Air Rescue received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems
Still the only CAMTS accredited program in Louisiana!
