Life Air Rescue alternates bases periodically between  Christus-Schumpert St. Mary's Campus and Willis-Knighton Medical Center.  Both Health Systems equally support the flight program operations.

Willis-Knighton Health System is comprised of 4 full service hospitals and numerous clinics located throughout Northwest Louisiana and Southern Arkansas.  The Shreveport area hospitals are:

Willis-Knighton Medical Center-Shreveport, LA

Willis-Knighton South-Shreveport, LA

Willis-Knighton Pierremont-Shreveport, LA

Willis-Knighton Bossier-Bossier City, LA
 

Willis-Knighton provides a variety of services including organ transplant, hyperbaric medicine, Level III NICU,  and has a state of the art cardiac center.  In the winter of 2000 a regional cancer treatment center was opened enhancing cancer treatment for the Ark-La-Tex.

Christus Schumpert Health System is comprised of 2 full service hospitals in the Shreveport region.

Christus Schumpert St. Mary Place- Shreveport, LA

Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital- Shreveport, LA

Christus Schumpert Health System has a variety of services including open heart surgery, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Level III NICU.  This facility also contains rehabilitative services and  fitness centers.

Life Air Rescue transports to the following hospitals within the Shreveport-Bossier area:

Christus Schumpert St. Mary Place
LSU Health Science Center/Trauma Center
**Life Air Rescue is NOT currently transporting patients to Willis-Knighton Bossier due to a temporary lack of landing facilities.  If you have a patient that needs to be transported to Willis-Knighton Bossier Facility, please continue to call Flight Comm at 1-800-SMC-WKMC so we can assist you with this special request.

 Life Air Rescue  will transport to other major medical centers outside the Shreveport-Bossier area as well. You may activate this request by calling Flight Communications.
